The Phoenix Society Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that David MacIntyre has been hired as Phoenix’s new interim CEO. David is an exceptionally qualified leader with more than 27 years of experience in the fields of mental health, housing, substance use, and the criminal justice system. He joins us after more than 13 years as chief executive of the Motivation, Power and Achievement Society (MPA Society), which offers an array of mental health programs and housing throughout the Lower Mainland to support people living with mental illness and substance use challenges.
We’re excited for everything David brings to the table, including his wealth of knowledge and deep compassion—knowing this will undoubtedly enhance and strengthen the transformative work unfolding here at the Phoenix Society. Here’s a message from David:
“I am excited to be joining the Leadership Team at Phoenix Society, and look forward to working together to serve the community. I have unwavering admiration for this organization, having watched its growth and development from afar over the past few years. I am enthusiastic about the bright future and firm foundation, especially the talented professionals and community members who call Phoenix home. Thank you for the warm welcome as we prepare to take Phoenix into its next chapter.” – David MacIntyre
David began his role on September 6th, and will take advantage of the overlapping time remaining before Keir transitions away later in September. With David taking the role of interim CEO, the board’s Transition Committee will continue its work to recruit a permanent Chief Executive Officer in coming months.
Our future is bright and we are optimistic about the next phase of Phoenix’s journey. Welcome David!
– Sincerely, Pat Frewer, Board President
