The Nest
“The Nest” is a 40-unit housing program in Surrey that provides individuals the ability to live an independent yet supported lifestyle. Sixteen of the 40 units are designated as supportive recovery units and are available to those who have recently completed a treatment program and are at risk of homelessness.
Located at 13620 80th Ave., the Nest is a three-storey modular building with 40 studio units, each with a private washroom and kitchen. The building also includes lounge and dining areas, a community garden, health-care space and a commercial kitchen to provide residents three nutritionally balanced meals per day.
Phoenix staff are on site 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Our team includes a Case Manager, Mental Health Worker, Program Assistants, Peer Support Worker and Program Manager. We are extremely fortunate to have a Sous Chef, Line Cooks and Custodian employed within our building as well.

Application Process
- Individuals who would like to apply to be part of The Nest community can fill out a Supportive Housing Application: https://www.bchousing.org/publications/Supportive-Housing-Registry-Application-Form.pdf
- The Supportive Housing Application must be accompanied by a Vulnerable Assessment Tool (VAT). A BC Housing Outreach Worker can assist in that process. They can be found here: https://www.bchousing.org/housing-assistance/homelessness-services/find-homeless-outreach-worker
- The application will be put into a registry where it will be reviewed at a Community Access Table and assessed based on need.
- Once the application makes it through the above process, an Access and Assessment Coordinator from BC Housing, alongside the Program Manager of The Nest will schedule an interview with the applicant to determine program suitability.
- Applicants are required to sign a program agreement with The Phoenix Society – The Nest.
