Residents’ Medical Clinic

About

Phoenix’s on-site medical clinic at the main campus offers 24/7 access to non-judgmental, relationship-based care. All new participants are introduced to the health team early on to begin building trust and continuity.

Services include:

  • Weekly primary care physician clinics
  •  Addiction physician clinics twice a week
  • Access to virtual psychiatry
  • 24/7 onsite nursing support and medication access
  • Medication-supported treatment for mental health and substance use, including OAT medications, craving-reduction medication, psychiatric medication, and nicotine replacement
  • Education to support independence with medication management
  • On-site testing and diagnostics, including ECGs and LifeLabs
  • Withdrawal management support for individuals who do not require a medically supervised detox
  • Referrals to specialists and support with navigating medical appointments in the community

Whether someone needs routine care, a private conversation, or stabilization support, the space is set up to meet people where they are.

How to Access Care
  • Phoenix Centre’s Medical Clinic for program participants is located at the main campus (first floor)
  • No referral needed — participants can visit as needed

Health care services are available 24/7 to individuals in the Stabilization and Transitional Access Recovery (STAR) Programs and the Provincial Specialized Substance Use Treatment Programs (PSUTP). Support is also provided to residents in Recovery-Based Transitional Housing when needed, during emergencies, or to help connect with long-term, community-based care.

Every participant completes a medical assessment with nursing staff at the start of the program. Within their first week, they are also scheduled for an intake appointment with Phoenix’s Addiction Physician.
