Celebrating Connection

Celebrating Connection

The first event of a series celebrating Phoenix accomplishments through Connections, kicked off on Friday January 25, 2019, with the completion of Don Rock’s latest creative-nonfiction novel, The Namby Pamby Show, which explores the question of whether or not, in our politically correct culture, does truth matter?

Anna, one of the counselors at Phoenix, referenced the value of Connection amongst a Tribe; for support, meaning, and purpose. Meanwhile, Deb, a facilitator with Astep (Employment assistance program), also remarked on the importance of Connection as it concerns personal growth and wellbeing.

Philip, a resident at Phoenix, with an extensive background in editing and composition, with projects extending to the Pacific-rim; The Namby Pamby Show’s editor, read aloud the story’s synopsis. With Rock, reading excerpts from his book and participating in a Q and A that followed.

The well attended celebration closed with a ceremonial cake, designed as an opened book, with the title and author, and the Connection series branding, appearing on its open pages.

Here at Phoenix we encourage individuals to reach their fullest potential, to focus on their strengths and to follow their purpose. What is your purpose? What steps are you willing to take to make it a priority? Who encourages you to be the best you that you can possibly be? Never give up, you are worth the endless possibilities!
