The Provincial Specialized Substance Use Treatment Program is for adults 19 years of age and older who have a severe and high-risk substance use disorder and may also have mild to moderate stabilized mental health concerns. Services are designed for people who have experienced multiple relapses, and whose treatment needs for substance use and addiction are more than what their local community health resources or health authority have been able to meet. Referrals are completed by a community care team with the individual and in partnership with the applicable Regional Health Authority Liaison.
We support male or female identifying, nonbinary, and two-spirited individuals on their substance use journey through individualized treatment plans. We have a gender responsive approach, supporting male and female clients on separate floors. This three-month, live-in treatment program includes individual, group, and family therapy (when appropriate) using a variety of evidence-based treatment types. The program also offers opportunities to build community and connections through activities such as recreational therapy, music therapy and Indigenous cultural connection. All participants receive a personalized after-care plan and support sessions.
The program is located at Phoenix Society Main Campus in Surrey, BC.
